i have a 2000 f250 superduty 4x4 7.3 and my truck came from the factory with no cab lights so i bought a kit from ford and it has a plug at the end of the harness and the guy told me there should be a pulg on my truck but i cant find it anywhere just wornding if any one knows where it is of if there is even one thanks
I believe the plug is behind the cover at the right foot of the passenger. You may have to remove the plastic door sill, one push pin clip thing and it should pry off.
There is a connection that is suppose to be located where Kris stated. They also offer a harness that plugs in to the overhead console area, if you have an overhead console, according to my local dealer. Do you have a template that shows where to drill the holes for the lights? I am wanting to install a set, but my local Ford dealer doesn't have anything to show me where to drill the holes. I know that there is a web page that I have bookmarked on my other computer, can't remember the name right now, but I'm looking for more info before I do the install.
There are 2 Totally different wiring harnesses - 1 for an overhead console and 1 for no overhead console. They install took my around 5 hours with some help from my girlfriend. Get a knockout bit and it will make things 100x easier!!! Measure twice, Cut once
i would love to have cab lights. just heasitating because of that small part of drilling holes in the roof. but from what i see and read everyone says its a breaze. like Joe said measure twice cut once.

I was the same way. Had the lights for a year and a half until I worked up the nerve to do it. Take your time and do it right. Here's the write up I used. The guy uses an electrical knockout tool to make the holes for the plug. Nice round hole compared to a drill bit. Motoman's Madness I put a bead of silicon around the inside of the foam gasket to make sure there's a good seal. We had a nasty storm roll through last week and no leaks.
I had my neighbor drill the holes in mine. I couldn't bring myself to do it on my own. Look in my gallery for some pics of it. I did it about a month and a half ago. Very easy for the most part. I got the kit off of eBay and it came with the wrong plug. We just cut the ends off and butt connected it to the correct wires. It wasn't hard.
Here is a pic of him happily making holes!!!
What Joe said above about the two harnesses is correct. Both will plug into the same connector located along the lower outer panel in passenger footwell. If you have the overhead console and the wrong harness, you will lose power to the console when you unplug the existing harness and plug in your new one.
It was a fun project...does take nerve to drill that first hole but after that it goes smooth. Do add silicone RTV to the screw posts and electrical connector when attaching to the cab...extra insurance against leakage. I've had no issues with mine.
