hi i am new here but i have a 96 explorer v6 4.0 i have been putting a lot of money in my car and i am ready to get rid of it if i cant get it fixed i had a coolent leak in the intack mani gasket did that about 2 days later get a check engine light all 3 o2 sensors waited a while on that then i get rough idle so i fix all 3 sensors still bad idle so i get the code re3ad agin p402(exessive egr flow) so i get a new egr clear codes and still same problem so as i am messing with it when i take vacume line off good idle but now i have a p401 so the problem is the vacum line is holding the egr open what the hell controld the vacum i am only 18 working and trying to afford gas in ny and this car is killing me i need help please anything is greatley appricated

I had the same error code of excessive egr overflow. I tapped on the cover of the egr and it must have unclogged whatever the problem was because my check engine went off. I'm not going to mess with it unless I get the check engine light again.
Possible your vacuum line is clogged?
