value?? conflicting reports....
Hey guys, I have been sort of a troll, and really appreciate all the good info on this site. The time has come to get rid of my f 150, and have heard some really conflicting reports on where to price it at. First off its an '01, 130k on the clock. xlt, ext. cab 4 door short bed. 2 tone white and gold/tan paint, a few door dings, but nothing major at all. It has the 4.2 motor, auto, with the 16.5 5 spoke wheels, and still averages around 17-18 MPG. Ive owned it since 04, and it literally has NEVER broken down, not even a battery! Carmax offered me $1700, which i thought was insane, but I do know the market for trucks has gone down significantly. So ill ask yall, whats a fair price to ask for it? I can get yall some pics tomorrow when the sun is out, but you get the idea. Thanks in advance from a fellow ford enthusiast!

They probably shot you that low ball number to cause you to not want to trade it in. I think that dealerships are really trying to steer away from pickups like that because they know they wont be able to sell them for much profit if any... trucks simply arent moving well right now because of gas prices... your best bet is to try to sell it outright by posting in the papers and what not. Probably more in the 4-5k range. All depends on what the truck is worth to you.
me personally its worth that sitting there. You woultn be able to pick up a nicer pickup for the price.
