where to run wire?
I am installing a CB radio... sorry to dissapoint anyone. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to run the wire out of the cab back to the bed? I have a 1999 F-150 single cab. Thanks! Also, anyone have CB mounting suggestions? Like what is behind that black panel below the center of the dash? Thanks again.

I placed my CB (a small Uniden) to the right of the steering wheel. On a 4x4 it would be the area where the 4x4 indicator light is located. I pulled off the large black dash trim that surrounds the gauges and steering wheel and took a saber saw to it. I cut out a rectangle slightly bigger than the CB. I then ran the wire through the dash, which was the easiest part of the whole thing. +12v and ground come from the stereo, I believe. I put the dash trim back on the dash, hooked up the CB, jammed it into it's new hole (if you have a 2x4, the area where I cut the hole in the dash is actually very empty, and you can fit a small CB fully in there. I drape the mic and the mic cable over the CB so it hides the rough cut that the saber saw left. The CB isn't flush, sticks out maybe 1.5". This gives my truck a very "cockpit" appearance, however, which I like, since I have some firefighter electronics on my dash, as well.
In the very back of the cab you have access holes about the size of a silver dollar with rubber grommets protecting them. I slit the grommets and shoved the antenna wire through that. I then drilled through my bed and brought the cables up through that.
I have a Husky toolbox on my truck, so the wires are COMPLETELY hidden. The antennas are mounted about three inches in from both sides of the truck on the very front of the bed.
All in all it looks very professional and I get compliments all the time.
It took a ton of work, though. Most of it was cutting the dash.
P.S.: If you want, I have a close-up of the CB mounted, if you want me to find it for you.
