it is usually the left positive and the right negative (generally it is the two outside wires). You leave the positive and negative leads that are on the inside alone. and DO NOT PUT THE 2 POSITIVES AND THE 2 NEGATIVES TOGETHER. it will fries some stuff nice and bbq style 
but be sure your amp is stable at the mono load you wil be giving it. ie: 2 ohm mono i hope this helps
