My daughter-in-law is also a quadraplegic in a motorized chair, altho she has enough movement and strength on left side only to drive a specially modified (drive by wire) vehicle. I have done quite a bit of work on her vans over the last few years, so if I can help let me know.
The valve controlled rack & pinion and the computer that manages it are the heart of the system.
Tranny shift is done with a linear actuator, as is the parking brake.
gas & brake are normal, except for pedal mods to put them on the left side of the steering column..
Welcome ! Grizz & Krip
No matter the color of your side theres always some anwsers and more questions here.
However I'm sensing the dark force is strong within both of you. This I find pleasing.
Pls set up a picture gallery of your Truck.
I'd like to see some detail on your accessiblity mods, we've had several requests for help in this area and I have a nerve and muscle issue that could go in any direction.
Thanks
Gallery up and running, for what its worth!I warn ya,its basic(less to go wrong)
So maybe you have a handycap but it sure isn't interfering with building a fine ride, awesome when your plan comes together as well as your panel, really looks great, Garry
Hi Kripfink Welcome also from a Darksider from the Uk to. I have never been able to work out how to add to my gallery but seem to get it to work in a reply heres mine: leading the Cruise out at Hot Rods and Hills do

Its a *cough*.... Re.... Renault colour ;o) Soleil Gold it goes on like Kandy, over a white base, really shines in the sun (not that we get much).
Kripfink your panel looks fantastic, love the caddy interior lights.
Please forgive my newbish ignorance but, what and where is the dark side and who is guarding the cookies??? Are they chocolate chip?
I've been dolling out the odd batch to various dark siders for the ingenuity and inspiration the provide the rest of us that are modifying their rides. The largest cookies go to those that are really dark and using GM products in some way shape or form.
Later and welcome to the DARK SIDE !!!!
Here are a couple for starters. More to follow as progress is completed.
Yeah that's right the last one is Bacon Chocolate Chip. Sounds like something Homer Simpson would have dreamt up.
For those of you who just cant get enough bacon, I've included the link to the story and recipe.
They look fantastic. I may have to try to make some. Why not.
There is a guy in Colorado that has a company called "Ice Cream Alchemy" that makes a bacon ice cream, among other flavors. I love the Rose flavored. Taste like a rose smells.
Has anyone besides me ever had a peanut butter ham and swiss sandwich with Mayo?
Yes, I just can't leave food alone either. More flavor, R, R, R.
Welcome newbies, the cookies are only advertised to lure in the unsuspecting. Once you start down the Darkside, you're hooked. And when you find out there are no cookies, you don't care. You just just need your next fix of chrome or billet aluminum.
The Darkside is a good thing. People need to do it their own way. I like Ford trucks lookin' semi-stock but having some modern improvements for fun and comfort. However, there is a limit to what's good. Some Fords are so altered that they start looking like Chevys. First they take all the badging off. (They must not be proud of the Ford name.) Then they change the hood and the fenders to make them look rounder and less sculpted. Next they slap in a Chevy drive train. And, I have even seen them with Chevy beds installed in place of the originals. Is it any wonder that people get confused and ask, "What year is your Chevy?" The Darkside is a good thing, but anything taken to an extreme can go too far. So, I say make sure your project still looks like a Ford when you get done or you may having people ask you to join their Chevy club. Jag
