2001 or 2002

I ordered a 2001 May 5th, received a build date of Aug 20. Does any one know if this vehicle will be a 2001 or a 2002?

2002. I was told they stopped making 2001's in late May or early June.

this would be a 2001 the 2002 dont come out untill the end of aug

I bought my 01 Crew last July, 00. But its an 01. The next year models aways come out after the sixth month of the year. So after July this year. They should be 02'.

I am in the same boat. I ordered one mid-March and I do not even have a build date.

If you guys are right and anything that gets built after August will be a 2002, what happens to the options and the price that was agreed to with the dealership?

Will the dealer call and let us know? I bought the truck knowing what I will be getting. If they change certain thing like the seats (as they did mi year 2001), rims, etc...I might not want it.

Also, in theory a 2002 is more expensive then a 2001? That means we have to pay more or will Ford reimburse the dealer for the price difference as the delay is the factory's fault.

Just a few things to think about.

I checked with the salesman Friday, He said it will be a 2001. He said the price will not change. A 2002 would be nice for resale someday but the incentives for the 01 is nice today. He said the incentives for the 2001 will be extended to October????
$1250. rebate

He also told me the reason for delay was shortage of 4.6L engines.

Then I got a call from the dealer today that guy quit and I have a new saleman to work with. I guess in time everything will become clear.
