new to ford
I bought a 1988 F250 with a carbed 460 and sitting on 39.5x15x15 swampers about a month ago. This truck came from the factory with a fuel injected 351. Whoever had the truck a while back put a lot of work into it. They had to notch the frame in order to fit the 460, they cut the bed and made it a short box, and they removed the front fuel tank.
On the way home from buying it the engine pretty much went caput on me (rod bearing went to crap). I bought a slightly fresher 460 and did a top end rebuild and dropped it in. So far everything is working out ok. I just noticed the my tie rods are pretty much shot, but that's easy to fix. Also, my driver/rear hub keeps locking up when I'm going down the road. It didn't do it at all when I brought it home from buying it, but it has been doing it every so often lately. I don't really know what could be causing this, but I'm going to get it fixed before I put it back on the highway.
