5.4 issues

Hi guys,
i usually hang around the mustang forums but i've ran into some truck issues.
my brother has a 97 f-250 LD with the 5.4l that he blew a hole in the side of the block. anyways we just bought a 5.4l that came out of a 2005 and have been runing into some issues. did they redesign the 5.4 when the switched to the 3valve heads? so far. the 05 wiring harness is different, motor mounts dont fit (says my brother), electric throttle. am i going way over my head trying to make this fit? what do the truck experts think i should do to get the truck up and running again? any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 2004 models started with the 3V design and drive-by-wire throttle which makes the wiring and the computer much different. Not to say that this can't be done but it is not practicle to do. Good luck!

you could get a short block from directfordparts.com (one of our sponsors) for $1350!

best bet is get the same motor 5.4 (L) used...from a 97-03...easiest to change
