You need to use a special tool that slides between the cd player and the frame it sits in. It is a thin piece of metal with a special indent on it that separates the cd player from the frame and you can pull it out. You can take the cd player out of my truck in 30 seconds with some practice. The little black trim plate that goes around the outside just snaps in, you gotta take that off first. I just used a screw driver and was careful, the clips that hold it on are on the left and right sides. A pair of needle nose pliers, with a rag on the teeth will work too(meaning, use the pliers with the rag inside it so you won't scratch it). Then just take a mental picture of where the wires go. There is a black wire that plugs into the back of the deck by itself, that is the antenna wire. Then there is just a plug, you will need the adapter plug that adapts the connector on the harness from ur new truck, to the back of the cd player. Available anywhere stereo's are sold, even places like Best Buy, for 15 bucks or so. You should have two speakers in the doors, i believe they are 6 1/2 inch round speakers. Play with the balance and fade on your cd player, and single out each speaker at a normal volumn to check them out, make sure they are good.

hey,
where do i go about getting one of these special tools? also, tried taking the door panel off today to check out those speakers in the door with no luck....i just cant figure out how to get it off, and yes every single screw was out....didint wanna break it so just gave up and put the screws back in.thanks for all your info

hey man, the door panel is held on by pop-screws or whatever you want to call them.. the are black and have ridges. you will need a door panel puller to take th door panel off without breaking them. Thos little black peices cost 5$ a pack of 8.. it gets expensive if you do it much... But if you wanna take a chance, you can find where to pull them out of the door and do it with your hands, but i dont reccomend this way. I recomend gettin the tool.
allright, thanks alot! i was wondering if it had something other than just those screws holding it on. I think im gonna take it to the audio shop where i gety all my stuff done and let them deal with it, its not worth breaking someting to me, im pretty bad with wiring and such, gimme a wrench any day!
