Headliner Question

If I remove my headliner will there still be mounting points for my sun visors and such so I can leave those up? Reason is the glue on my headliner is starting to give out and the headliner is doing that trashy sag and I think it would look better with no headliner. I plan on either fixing the old one or getting a new one but in the mean time I would like to take the current one out. Maybe while its out I'll install some cab lights or get my cb ready to mount... who knows..

solving the sag

Your visors should mount right back up without the headliner in place.

So long as the base / board is still intact, you can recover it with new material (available through a local upholstery shop or online). I had to do this with my 85 Super Cab several years ago.

While your truck will run just fine without the panel, having it in place definitely helps quiet the cab.

Yeah I planned on it being noisier. I was just making sure I could take it out and take my time redoing it instead of being rushed.

Don't know about todays prices but 6 years ago I had got an upholstery shop to re-do my headliner for $125.

I do not believe so. These use plastic "T" clips, one about midway over each of the doors. The front and rear are held in place by their respective trim strips.

And, you are right: Now would be the ideal time to install those upgrades and get all of your wiring and mount points lined out!

I recently replaced my headliner, because I got a killer deal on a NOS one. I think the screws that hold the visors go directly into the sheet metal of the cab. I'm not entirely sure though, but that is what I remember.

I still have my old headliner that is in good usable condition. Its not sagging. If you want it I would sell it cheap. It is in the box that the new one came it, so I can ship it easily. Its opal gray and probably the wrong color. I think yours is the darker gray, if it has gray interior. The gray in 92 and 93 was darker than the gray from 94-96.
