engine kit?

engine kit?

I'm about to order a engine kit, this engine is going to have a turbo. Do I need to be spesific when I order to get different piston other than the regular or all are the same and if you know a good place to order them and have a good price as well thanks

Factory turbo 7.3's had a different piston and rod. The wrist pin is bigger. The crow on the piston is different also. I think it has a steel crown.

If you are doing a 7.3 you could change the rods and update the motor.

If you are going with stock NA pistons you may want to think about milling them down some. Dave can give you more info on that stuff. I haven't gotten into building one of these for power. To many other things to. do.

GREAT as log as Im spending someone elses money..... I would get the ceramic coated pistons, (even with my own money)

No need to change the rods all the wrist pin dose is add rotaiting wieght. The only dfference in the turbo pistons according to the ford turbo update manuel is that they are anidised. I would go with cyramics myself maybe even get some .040 milled down pistons.

you guys recomend arp studs for the heads or the originals are ok for this engine thanks

I haven't really looked for them, but I am not sure ARP has 7.3 head studs.

I am running the ARP studs in my 6.9 and like them.

I've seen head studs for the 7.3 I think at d.s.p. they were like...really expensive!

If you intend to run high boost, yes.

Try 675 for 7.3 head studs.
