one day his wife was in the back yard with a bunch of her friends. i figured it was a good day to put on a thong and work on my roof. spent about 1 hour bent over mooning them.lol
they were yelling at my kids tonight telling them to walk on the road not the grass.
my oldest now has permision to tell them off.
i wish they would move. i like this house and the fact that my kids can walk to school in about 5 minutes.

land of NASCAR, rednecks, and real Americans.

when you said the land of NASCAR, rednecks, and real Americans. you where talking about Florida right?
I tell ya that I love this place.
I have 6 cars and sometimes only 3 are running at a given time.
my driveway is littered with oil stains and my carport is litterd with old car parts, gas cans, and beer cans.
If my neigbors ever complained about my lifestyle I just dont know what I would do...

That's generally the way they do it out here in Colorado....there are some neighborhoods where you are not allowed to park your cars on the street *or* IN THE DRIVEWAY!!! They often require that vehicles be kept in the garage if they are parked at the property at all.....
That's a really good point...it isn't the job of the government to be the HOA...there really should be somethin against it..i mean if ur in an HOA neighborhood you can't complain as much about them telling you what you can and can't do, cuz it was your choice to live in that neighborhood...but if it's the government doin it, it's not like you chose to have that kinda thing

But...the whole not parking in the driveway is serious bull...isn't that the whole point of a driveway? if not, then why aren't garages set right next to the street/sidewalk? that's why i'm glad i don't live in an HOA neighborhood...if i had a rule like that I'd be pretty screwed wit my truck...cuz she doesn't actually fit in my garage...damn AZ and it's shallow garages...

Question Bill of attainder

Lisa, how did that case turn out ? Is it finished or are you appealing ? It certainly sounds like a bill of attainder to me. A B-O-A is specifically outlawed in the federal constitution, and most state constitutions as well. Did you challenge the constitutionality of the ordinance ? Here in Michigan, several junk car ordinances have failed when run up against Flint V Bibbs, michigan supreme ct. One has to bring up the case and have it looked at however, the judge won't recognize the supreme cts rulings if you don't already know about them. They're supposed to do it sua sponte, but most of them are jerks. If you are going to challenge the constitutionality of a law, Marbury V Madison is good as well. ( US Supreme ct ).Unfortunately, you have to do a lot of learning. Most lawyers already know this stuff but won't help you because they are beholden to the courts. DinosaurFan, on work's old 'puter

Judge ruled againsty me saying that because the vehicles were not restored, they did not qualify under the hobbyist exemption.

1. Automobile graveyard. "Automobile graveyard" means a yard, field or other outdoor area used to store 3 or more unregistered or uninspected motor vehicles, as defined in Title 29-A, section 101, subsection 42, or parts of the vehicles. "Automobile graveyard" includes an area used for automobile dismantling, salvage and recycling operations.
A. "Automobile graveyard" does not include:
(2) An area used by an automobile hobbyist to store, organize, restore or display antique autos, antique motorcycles, classic vehicles, horseless carriages, reconstructed vehicles, street rods or parts of these vehicles as these vehicles are defined in Title 29-A, section 101 as long as the hobbyist's activities comply with all applicable federal and state statutes and rules and municipal ordinances, other than ordinances that are more restrictive than this subsection regarding the storage of vehicles or vehicle parts that are collected by a hobbyist, except that a municipal ordinance may require areas used by an automobile hobbyist to comply with the screening requirements in section 3754-A, subsection 1, paragraph A and the standards in section 3754-A, subsection 5, paragraph A, paragraph B, subparagraph (1) and paragraph C. For the purposes of this subparagraph, an automobile hobbyist is a person who is not primarily engaged in the business of selling any of those vehicles or parts from those vehicles;

i dont understand laws like that... one of our neabhors is ALWAYS calling the cops on me and my dad... for working on cars in the drive way, cars not being moved every 3 days... or my having fun[you know... 18 year old kind of fun... loud music... guitars... fire works... blowin stuff up... and trucks with loud exahust.... you know the kind of thing that would set car alarms off 3 blocks way...] well the neabhor on the other side of us had a old truck sitting in the road for 3 MONTHS and mr. bASS we will call him... calls the cops...cop shows up... say hes got to move the truck so many feet] so the nice neabhor trys to start the truck up but with no luck... well i go to take the trash out... and i come out to see him trying to push a 3/4 ton long bed truck UP hill... so i offer some help and got the old man to come out... and we push it up about 5 feet... and he thanks us... and then sudjests we stuff our VW body next to the drive way... more towards mr. bass's house... to get it out of the road... well theres a reason for that one... mr. bass has some great big shurbs growing inbetween the my house and his... so we push the VW up in there... and then some time latter... the pampus grass got alot bigger... now mr. bass is hidding a car for us that has been sitting there for about 3 years....

cops still show up for us workin on cars and trucks in the drive way... but they never do anything... cause i reply with "well my dad is teaching me something about cars... that will help me some day get a job... and its keeping me off drugs... so you guys wont find me down at the skate park doing drugs..." and he just says have a nice day... you guys injoy your time on that car... and drives away...

i dont know if any one will understand that... but im gonna go back to looking for a thread about gas tanks...

There is hope for community uproar. California has some strict smog regulations. Currently, the law is that cars from 1975 and older are exempt from being smog tested. Earlier this year, there was a push in in the state legislature to try and remove that exemption. There was a bit of an uproar from the resto-enthusiasts and the bill didn't make it. Here is a link to a thread about it.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...mog-again.html

So, take heart and organize. Write to your state reps. Become vocal about it. If it can work in California, it could work in your state too.

Good luck.

way to much left over material, parts and kids toys. that's what happens when you have a woman mayor. and my neighbour is an a**. he is always looking through the fence to see what's going on, and if they hear anything like kids playing they call the cops. i was nice and spread about 10 packs of carrot seeds on his lawn the other night, can't wait for them to grow and attract the skunks and groundhogs.
Please explain what is illegal about kids playing. Even here in the "Nanny State" of California. I think kids playing are still within the law. Unless they are riding a bike without a helmet or selling illegal substances at school. (soda).

wow im really sad to here all that, i live in WA state , even with dick neighbors i still can work on my truck freely...it makes me sad that they really can do that, working on vehicles has been a passtime since they first came out, it should be a crime to be a nosey old bastrd, not a hardworking automobile fanatic...and to the guy who wore a thong and mooned his neighboors on the roof...you are my hero

Just a quick note that I have been in touch with Jason Tolleson from SEMA who was in complete agreemebt with me that this action by the town is completely in conflict with the established State law. He assures me to try to bring as much legislative pressure to be sure this doesn't happen to the next guy (which is really all I ever cared about).
