Hello fellow effie nuts. I am looking for a weld in section for the front upper fender. I recall seeing it in a catalog before, but everywhere I look, now says it is discontinued. Anyone know of a source? I would also welcome any decent original front fenders in better shape than I have now. Also, does anyone know if any companies make steel rear fenders or hood for a 48-50 hood? I am currently working on both a 1948 and 1950 F1.
No one makes them, EMS did at one time but not for a long time. I made my own, like the rest of the patches I use on my trucks. The only patches I know of are the bottom of the rear of the front fenders.
There also isn't anyone who make steel fenders or hoods for the '48-52 trucks, only fiberglass.
I just checked Northern Classic Truck's web site, they don't have the patch panels you're looking for but now they advertise 1948 - 50 Lower Front Fenders. They don't have pictures of them yet and you have to call for the price. These were also made some time back and discontinued, maybe Northern is ramping up to making patch panels for the fender, it wouldn't hurt to call and find out, Northern Classic Trucks
