what would you do
i may get a 351w real cheap and was wondering some cam and head suggestions for this motor. it already bored over .40 i think? its going to be a daily driver so i dont want to get horrible mileage(better than 12 to 13).

It's going into an F150? Or what? With what trans and axle?
How many miles after that .040 overbore? If you can't bore it again, and it's worn, you're looking at an oilburner or worse.
Others will be by with info, sit on your wallet for the moment. 351s are not rare enough to buy a worn out one.

Unless you have loads of $$ to put into this use the stock intake and heads and upgrade the cam and exhaust, there's lots of potential in these stock parts, and better heads will require a lot more investment besides the heads to get it to run right.

Have him cough up a reciept or two for the engine work. At least that way you know how old it is and can get a good idea of miles.

i went and looked at it today and it was a POS. it looked like it sat for 20 yrs at the bottom of the ocean. he had the heads off so i could see the cylinders and they were all scratched up, so bad you could feel it. i found another one for the same price with supposedly 50000 miles on it that im going to look at monday. not bored over so if it needs to be honed i have more to work with. letchya guys know what happens. thanks for the input.
