tapping sound
I have a loud metal to metal tapping sound from under the front of my truck? It stops when the truck stops moving. and gets faster the faster i go. I looked under the truck and found nothing rubbing or touching. when i turn right i think it stops till the truck goes strait. I have a 2001 4x4 with 16.5 rim 35in tires and a 4 in lift tires clear fine. front axel spines free with hubs unlocked and the hubes will lock. there are manual hubes any help you could give. will have the wife move the truck back and forth to see if i can pin point the sound.

If it only makes sounds while moving then it is probably in the drive train. Check the front U joints on the axles to see if they have any movement. Check the front drive shaft the same way, but if it goes away when turning it sounds more like the axle.
