E-Brake Cable

E-Brake Cable
My front E-Brake cable broke (think its called the "front brake cable") that connects my brake peddle to the back cables. I bought a new one from NAPA but when I try to hook it back it seems like its too short. I made sure the e-brake was up and the brakes were ingadged with vice grips, figuring this would give me the most slack, am I missing something. I also measured the old cable compared to the new cable and they are the same size. Is there a secrete to putting these back on? Thanks in advance.

You may have been sold the wrong cable by NAPA.
IC3Z2853AA is the Ford part number for the front E-brake cable.
FTE sponsor ftepartsguy.com = Ed Olson @ Parr Ford in Bremerton WA has one of these cables in stock.
You might contact him and ask him to measure the cable for you.
btw: Here's the Ford suggested retail and FTE member prices for this cable:
MSRP: $23.98 / ftepartsguy.com price: $17.27

The part number prefix of the one it replaced made sense, sorta: F81Z-2853-AA.
From the Model N of 1908 (the model that preceded the T) thru the 1990's, the p/n prefix made sense.
IC3Z = the idiots have taken over the asylum!
I'm retired, so I only have to deal with that crappola on FTE....once in a while.
You have to deal with it every hour of every day, like it or not.
What's the part number prefix for a Fusion? Uh...nevermind...I don't wanna know!
