I have a 6" drop ball mount that is rated at 12,000lbs. It is extra thick steel so the ball needs to have a long bolt with a 1 1/4" shank. I got my ball and ball mount from Uhaul. Check out this sponsor of FTE. Ballmounts Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com

i use a 5" now and the truck is stock..im guessing with a 6" block (2 more inches) and 35's im lookin at at least a 8-9" drop
Depending on the trailer. With the old horse trailer I use to pull I had to drop my masterlock drop hitch almost all the way down. With the new trailer I had to buy a new hitch because I needed a staight hitch, no drop. That Masterlock adjustable hitch is awesome. The adjustability on it is great, almost 8" up or down, and you can flip it to get the up part.
I've got a brand new 90 degree 2" insert that is (I think) a 12" drop. It's the kind that has a set of bolt holes through the drop to bolt a distributing hitch on it. I'd sell it cheap if anyone's interested.
I went for the B&W Tow and Stow - B&W Custom Truck Beds, Inc. Rated at 10K, it is more than enough for me. Plus I have four trailers with three different ball sizes and four different tongue heights. It is pricey, I got a three ball 10" drop for just under $200 and My dad got a 6" drop two ball for about $125, both off of ebay. I think the Diversi Tech that others have posted is similar in price, I went for the B&W because they were the only one that offered a tri-ball. You pay a lot up front, but if you will be hooking up to different trailers at different heights the Diversi-Tech or B&W sure beats buying two or three different hitch setups.
