crane cam
will crane cams summit part # CRN-363904 run and work correctly on a speed density 302? it has a lobe seperation of 112 and i have been told this would cause a problem and tht it needs to be up around 114...

You could have a roller motor, and going to flat tappet is a step backwords. To check for this remove one of the valve covers and shine a light down the pushrod hole, if you see a fork looking thing around the lifter you have a roller motor. If you can't see down the hole you'll have to remove the rocker arm(these are just torqued down no adjustment necessary). After you do this pull out the pushrod and measure it, if its 6.25" you have a roller motor.
Once you have that figured out you can look for a cam. I strongly suggest a very short duration RV cam similar to the one you listed but with 114deg LSA.
