Alternator question

I am looking at new 2008 F250's. I have noticed three different alternator configs.

Standard (no option listed)
Heavy Duty Alternator
Dual Alternators

I plan on using this truck for towing a boat, with a possibility of getting a 5th Wheel. I don't plan on getting a slide in camper or anything.

Am I safe going with the standard alternator installed with the 6.4 or should I search for a truck with the heavy duty or dual alternator?

Thanks.
Vincent

If you have no plans to run anything with a large amp draw like a winch, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have had the standard alternator and now have a truck with the Heavy Duty option. Both have worked just fine for my towing needs along with my lights, a/c music and wipers going. Duals are a nice option but I wouldn't think a necessary one for the application.

If you buy a truck with the supplemental cab heater it already comes with the 200 AMP alternator. Just a thought. I am one of those guys who would rather have too much power than find out I don't have enough.
