Hi everyone... hope someone can help me out. I have a 302 V8 150 Econoline Custom van (1985 year)... what will be the max weight I'll be able to pull? I'm planning on traveling on a daily basis and want to purshase a camper trailer. I checked the manual but it doesn't say. Thank you...
Not being shown in the owners manual probably means that they don't recomend you towing with this vehicle at all. (if I was to guess why it's not in the manual)
But it really depends on the GVWR, axle ratio, and engine of your Van.
But honestly you are not going to be able to tow much with it being a E-150. It's a half ton van and not going to be able to tow any more than sey a F-150.
So you are looking at around 2000 LBS max, without modification.
And according to the 81-F-150 owners manual, the most you can tow, is 3500 LBS, with a 302-V8, with a min axle ratio of 3.25. And even then you need the full HD towing package, According to Ford.
