I have a pretty big water leak in my 2000 Ranger regular cab. I'm going to take interior panels off in the next couple of days to see what I can. I noticed that the windshield has a marking of LOF in the lower right corner. Is this a Ford windshield? the reason I ask is, because on the driver side a piece of the black trim is missing. I wonder if that could be a cause of my leak.
I've also been told that it could be coming in at the air inlet door if it doesn't close. When I shut the truck off, I'll leave the switch in the vent position. Is there an easy way to check to see if the inlet door closes?
Thanks,
You could check the vacuum at the white vacuum line attached to the back of the function selector switch in the dash. With the engine at idle, there should be full vacuum when the switch is at either OFF" or "MAX A/C".
My mazda had a leak and the pass. side floor would be wet, turned out to be the rear cab light gasket, I never would've guessed, someone told me to check and it was the culprit.
