Bio-diesel in middle Tn.

I haven't been on in awhile, been really busy with new baby and also 4 and 2 yr. old. Also with new steers on some leased land.

Does anybody know of anyone making and selling bio in the middle Tn. area? I'm so sick of the high fuel prices, I'm not looking for bio at regular diesel prices, I'm looking for someone that is making it and selling it for less than the continuous rape of regular fuel prices!!!

Hope all is well with everyone, my truck has performing great but I'm considering selling it and buying a 4WD because of a lot of off road work I'm doing.

I always have better luck here no matter what I post on.
I plan on making Bio as soon as I get a new house but I am in NE TN now, probably 4 hours from Nashville. Sorry. You ought to read up and do it yourself. Not too hard and doesn't take up too much shop space. Look here:
Welcome - Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial Website

There is alot of good reading there.

That website has been what occupies my time when this forum decides to hiccup everymorning and not open from ~8:30-~9:30 am.

Good reading there and lots of links to keep you busy.

Why not SVO, Straight veggie oil!. Better, easier, cheaper. No shop space taken up.

SVO isn't a good option for everybody. Like me for instance, I run a lot of short trips, purge time would be a major issue. I would not be able to use the WVO very often. With my home brew I can run it all the time. I will have to mix in the winter but still short or long trip I can run it.

As for shop space what about filtering and dewatering?

No dewatering. My Racor filter does that. We heat the heck out of it before we filter for the first time.
Shop space is just what you want to have on hand on not on the truck.
Truck holds 100 gallons of veggie.
That's 100 X 4.59 = $459

Just to let you know but there is water in solution with that oil that your filter won't get out. I will get a picture of the water puddle coming from my condenser next time I am dewatering oil before I process my Bio. its quite amazing how much water can be pulled out of settle WVO.

Oh I know of water in the oil. It all depends on where you get your oil and emulsified oil etc etc.

We heat it up and then filter.

We also let it settle for at least two weeks.

We also have Racors that filter out 99% of water and we constantly drain the filter housings.

I have put 12K miles on my truck and everything is going great with veggie.

Are you saying $4.59 is what you would be paying for Dino diesel or are you paying that for veggie?
