help needed

I'm currently rebuilding a 1970 F100. I can not find the bed style that was originally on the truck due to the rust problems. I have decide to look for a flareside bed short wheelbase. How much difference was there between the 1950's flareside and the 1970's. I have found a 50's in great condition and did not know how it would effect the bodylines of the truck. Any information is helpful. Thanks

Well theres 20 years in there. Can you drive your truck next to a 50's truck in town (if you have that many around there)? I guess you could take pictures and photochop them together. The original bed you are looking for is pretty rare in good conditon, not to mention rare just by itself. Good luck finding your parts.

I think you will find that they look identical. The basic box design, tailgate, and fenders for flaresides were the same from 1953-1972.

Thanks I hope so. I found an mint condition 54 bed no rust. They were using it for a trailer. I really fell in love with this truck and fixing it up is a wonderful experience. Everything original except the bed. Now if I can find the hard part needed for the c6 tranny. Once again thanks
