Transmission Pan Leaking??!
I was under the truck hooking up my trans temp gauge sender and noticed a light coating of oil on the trans oil pan. There were even some bolt heads with fluid "hanging" off them - not quite enough to drip - yet. Is this an indication of failure to come? (I hope not - have about a 500 mile trip planned for next week) I am uncertain of the last fluid change as I bought it from Ford at 89k - now I am at 96k - I figured I would be able to service it at 20k intervals. I was also under the impression that everything was serviced from Ford when I purchased the truck. I did some searching and found some info about trans failures - but nothing that applies. Not to add confusion, but I did notice a whine after switching my 6637 intake to an AFE Stage II - Only when it warms up well and I'm on the gas. I thought it was the turbo noises...I hope its turbo anyhow. Any suggestions? Ideas? Help?!
BTW, I posted this in the Excursion section also.
