Is the speedometer gear "swapable" in the BW 1356 without changing the worm gear inside.
They're not a set like a ring and pinion are they?
I need to readjust the speedometer. The gears are brand new but I took my 36" tires off to sell my old '90 5-spd. gasser.
I know on my Dodges I can just change the "pinion" gear but I don't want to tear up the gears on my Fords for lack of checking first.
The origional gears were both totally shot so I took the Ford mechanics advice on what gears to get, he was over by 10% for 4:10s with 36" tires. I'm going back to stock size to sell it so I'm gonna check the local wrecking yard for some gears and check them against my GPS.
Didn't want to have that pinion gear get FUBARed again.
