Drying out Old Barn Boards
I have acquired appx 40 1x12' old Barn Boards range from 10' to 20' I had them stacked up on my car trailer and before I could get them stacked into my garage for storage they took on about 3" of rain and are now throughly soaked.
Wondering the best way for drying them out?
I made an Drying rack for my saw horse's that will holds the board up Vertical and space them out from each other 2" and am letting them sit in that for a day or and then gonna pile them up in the garage. I was also gonna put a dehumidfier in there also to help with getting rid of the moisture.
Wondering if there is any thing else I could be doing?
I know I should have stacked them up in the garage before they got the 3" of rain on them but such is life.
My plans for these are to line the inside of the garage wall's and the ceiling to give the garage a more finished look and such but that wont be till this fall winter before I can get time to work on that. Also wanna put in isulation before I put the boards up. I have 2 many other things to be doing right now so I dont' have time to work on the garage.
any way this is a pic of the boards on the trailer and the first round in the drying rack,

Any Idea's for this
Thanks again,

If I was expecting to do any welding or grinding in the garage, I'd prefer walls that won't burn. Especially if the garage is attached to the house.
They are from the In-laws 100 year old milking bar that has been dying a slow death the last 10 years and now the North and East Walls are crumbling down by the week.
So I got the chance to grab anthing that I wanted and started with these boards.
Code out here requires a complete 5/8 drywall "seal" between the garage and living area. You have to seal the electric boxes etc with this nasty red fireproof silicon poop. And you have to have a sealed fire door going in.
The fumes from a fire can kill everyone in the house hours before the flames are visible. Or, the flames from dry wood siding can explode so quickly you'll be lucky to grab your skivvies on the way out....
Maybe the far wall....
put down 2x4s to space off the floor, lay boards about 1/2 to 3/4 inch apart then 3/4 inch stickers between layers
keep your stickers less than 24 inches apart to eleminate warping

about the only stuff left was the Boards.
The only Stainless Steel was in the Milk House for the sink's and the bulk tank and they are being saved for the 25 Chickens for use in cleaning and processing. I don't know the process yet but have been assured that I be called upon to help with it.
