thanks i am right now, i have a couple of questions not sure where or how i ask em new to this site...like to know what options i have to reduce the rpm of my f350 would like to drop highway rpm to below 2000 to try gain some extra fuel miles any ideas?
Check out our tech forums, click on the Forums tab at the upper left and look over the boards. You will find several that will fit your application. Feel free to post questions in them. The best way to drop RPM though is to back off the throttle. I know, I have a hard time doing it to.
We'd be better off having this discussion up in the tech side so you get more input.
Click on the link I gave you above. That will take you to the 7.3 section. Then just above where the list of active topics are click on
and ask away.
Be sure to include what kind of mileage you're getting now, and what speed you consider highway speed. Also tell us how many miles you drive a year.
The simple options would be to drop to a 3.73 rear or add a Gear Vendors or US Gear overdrive system that would lower RPM's, Assuming you didn't want to do it the easy way and just slow down.
The question is, will you drive the truck enough, and get enough savings to pay for the change? I'll look for your post up in the tech forum.
