Well I finally bought them. I was just reading on another forum about how some people dont think they are as bright as the older ones and they were talking about upgrading the bulbs and harness. Any suggestions on this? I do see that you can get just the pigtails to hook them to the stock wiring or a another harness comes with relays. Also whats the turnsignal bulb number because I'd like to get the blacked out bulb to do away with the yellow ones.
No, these new lights do not bolt in place. Some cutting of the header is needed.
I picked up the upgrade kit from Dfuser/Pure Diesel Power, really haven't noticed a difference in light. Then again, haven't really driven in the dark yet since it stays light for so long.
I used the conversion kit with heavy duty wiring. The light output is much better than the stock 1999-2000 lights. I also installed a diode in the dead socket to make it so I could have hi/lo beams on at the same time.

More info on the 10 cent bright box mod please. I'd say that if I did this mod I should go with a upgraded harness right? I found another site that sales the pigtails, cheap, but am willing to pay to do it right. Could you maybe post a link to which harness you have that you have the diode in?
I found another place that sales the relays and on their site they recommend using two of their universal harness' and running one from each battery. Anybody ever heard of this?
