Only work I have put into it was the EBPV leaking and tires. Other than that, most of the other work is screwing with it. See my sig.

My parents have been looking for a bigger suv, they have a ford exploror 4 door now. They found a 2000 Excursion with a V10 for $6900. It has 100100 miles on it that is all I know about it. They are looking for a bigger suv to drive to church and vistpeople and to go pray for people, that way they can only drive one car. Most of the time it is 6 or 7 people that go with them.
It will not be there dalydrive my mom will use the Exploror for that and my Dad drives his work trucks.
I guess my question is, is the Excursion worth the money is it a good suv.

Tim
Look for an E-series van. The third seat in the Ex is not the best for adults...especially older ones.

Ken,

Great advice! Why didn't I think of that???

I've got an E350 that's my work van and I like the way it drives and tows. I got the Excursion in late 2006 because the van only has 2 seats and I was getting into more situations where I needed to carry more than 1 passenger.

If I didn't need 4wd, I probably could have gone with a van rather than an Excursion.

The only thing wrong with the 2000 Excursion is the front cupholders in the console are WAY too shallow. It's easy to fix, just order the cupholder piece from a Ford dealer; ask for one for a 2003 and you will get the deep one. It takes less than a minute to unsnap the old one and snap the new one in its place.

Oh yeah, my V10 / 4WD / 3.73 gets 13.3-14 MPG on the road, 11.5 towing.

I have an 01, does that mean I have the shallow cupholders too? How much is that fix?

Got a part number? Ford dealerships sometimes are not the greatest for parts lookup

Ford began putting the deep cup holders on the late 2000 Excursions, so everybody after that should have the deep cup holders on the center console and on the pull out cupholders on the dash.

Twp, good to hear your parents bought the Excursion, I'm sure they will be very satisfied with it.

That means my 01 will have it and it is as deep as it goes.
