E4OD problems???

I posted this in another section last nite and after browsing the site more i noticed this sub forum, so please excuse the double post. Here is the post.

I have a 93 F-250 4x4 with a 351 and e4od tranny. I know the rumbling in tranny is common and can sometime's be fixed with fluid change. It fixed mine anyway but now i'm having more problems. A few days ago it got to where it will stall or try to stall when putting in any gear. It will do the same thing when starting from a stop and occasionally when coming to a stop. Sometimes i can keep it from stalling and sometime's i cant. It doe's it in all gears from a stop including reverse. My cel will come on intermittenly but i have no code's stored and i cant find a pattern that cause's the cel to come on. It also is not shifting right and sometime's it feels like it's lacking power when accelerating hard. I'm thinking it's tranny or converter related but idk. I have checked tps and iac and they seem to be in working order. The truck always fire's right up after stalling. Anyhelp of links of troubleshooting and any idea's would be appreciated.

Thanks
Keith

EDIT: forgot to add that my speedo starting going crazy at the exact same time all this other stuff started.

It could be the torque converter clutch internally, it could be the TCC solenoid stuck or being given the apply signal when it shouldn't be. So place to start is disconnecting the connector for tcc and see if you still have the problem. Most of the time you can just dissconnect the power to the trans and it will default to a limp mode. Anyway if there is no power to the TCC and it does what you say then its either something with the hydraulic circuit for TCC or the clutch itself inside the torqueconverter.

There's your place to start. Fix that and the trans will probably be fine. The VSS is the sensor that drives the speedo. It's on the rear diff, in the center, on top. Either the sensor is bad or the wiring to the sensor is bad.

I did disconnect the sensor on top of diff. I'm assuming that is also the abs sensor? I went for a drive and speedo did not operate at all and abs light was on. The truck never stalled are acted like it wanted to, the only problem was the shifts were very stout. There are two pieces of metal on both sides of where the sensor plugs into the diff. I dont see anyway to take it off. Any suggestions? I will raise the body up after work to get a better look. I did spray the sensor with carb cleaner but it didnt seem to help/

There should be one bolt holding the sensor in place. It has a 10mm head.
