I have a '96 Explorer and a '02 F250 Diesel PU. I'd like to switch the audio units between the two vehicles but the connectors are different. (my wife wants a CD player) They are compatible physically but not electrically. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where I could buy some adaptors? Thanks.
u could always try to wire it urself, but it would be much easier if u bought a aftermarket CD player. i seen them as low as $89.99 for a basic jensen cd player and it will give u better features then a stock HU.
ford changed the connectors in 97, like i said before u could always wire it by hand, but u wont get the functions like u can from an aftermarket HU. try a pioneer or jensen, they usually have a baseline model for around $100, but they often go on sale. and all u have to do it pull the stock HU and buy an adapter from wal-mart for around $6, connect a few wires and ur set.
