Map Regulator ?

For those of you guys that have a MAP regulator where did you get your regulator? What type would you recommend?

I am thinking of putting one on my truck since I hit 34psi with ease now. I know I could use one from something like an acetylene torch setup but I don't want anything that big. I was thinking there was a smaller version somewhere.

Also what pressure did you set it at?

How is the best way to hook it up? Other than the obvious.

I got mine at Menards (home depot, sears, lowes) will have them as well. It called a mini air regulator. Get two 1/4 inch barb fittings and stick it inline with the MAP line. I think I set mine at around 20 PSI.

You can also use a blowoff valve.
I use a adjustable valve from grainger.
Bob has one also.
Boost Relief Valve +

The turbo is not going to last to long at your new pressures.
Did the growth in the fuel system clear up yet?

Yup all is clear and running like a raped ape. It just feels like a studder every now and then when I try to jump from low RPM to High and thought I would see what this does to help. It will hit 3400 RPM limiter without batting an eye. Feels like she wants more RPM but PCM won't let her.

I know the turbo is short lived but I don't drive it like that much she is my DD so we get along good but she likes to be played with every now and then. LOL

Tim when I read the link attached it shows a test wher the regularor will limit boost to the MAP sensor even at lower boost pressures. Have you tested yours to see if it is regulating you even at lower boost levels?

MADVAN, it sounds like you use your own homemade style relief valve. Did you consider the amount of boost you loose to the engine when it pops off. They have a spec. sized oriface to prevent loosing boost to the motor. Thoughts ??

That was a very informative link, thanks. It opened my eyes to a few things as you can see. Just curious on your responses.

Boost pressures somehow came up quite a bit with new injectors. Strange huh? LOL

Neal I have watched my MAP signal with the regulator. Its doesn't hinder boost under the set pressure. It simply will not allow more the 20 PSI to the MAP but will allow anything under that.

Cool. I was wondering they did a test and it showed otherwise. i have 2 boost gauges maybe that is what I will use the other one for. The BP setup keeps clogging up.

Neal i actually tested mine with my scan gauge again last night. The MAP is only seeing about 18 PSI. Makes me wonder if I have some fuel missing with it that low. I am going to bump it up and try it.
