Buying a Bronco II

Hey, I'm looking at buying an '89 Bronco II with only 78k miles on it. It has the pushbutton 4wd system, but the buttons are missing from the dash, is there a way to engage the 4wd system just so I can make sure it's working, and how much would this part cost?
