ac:replacing it all

92 F 150 5.0L

Factory r 12

I've been running 134 for 2 years. Compressor finally quit. Not locked but not pumping.

I'm going to flush the evap. and change everything else.
Going to try a variable oriffice.

My ac manual says the system had 7 ounces of mineral oil for r 12.
Should I use 7 Ounces of PAG 46 in my fresh system?

Stay with the fixed orifice, use the correct size for the conversion.

Hopefully, you have made certain it's not a clutch (or clutch control) failure.

Yes, use 7 oz of PAG 46 in the system. Distribute it into the components, ie, pump, new accumulator, and the condenser.

If you do indeed have internal compressor failure, it probably grenaded and you'll likely need to replace everything forward of the firewall.

I'd use 7 oz of ester oil, a new accumulator and all new o-rings and springs.

A replacement 94 orifice tube may work well for you.

Also adjust the CCOT switch about 1/4 turn CCW (screw out 1/4 turn) and charge it to 33 oz of R134.

Everything will be changed but the evap.
With the new system do i still need to use ester?
when it was working, i had 40 degree vent temps at 88 degree ambient.
My orifice is blue. Are you saying a red orifice will operate better?
