is anyone running an additional tranny cooler in line with the oem?
I think this is what I'm wanting to do to cool the tranny a little more. It's either an add on cooler a bigger tranny oil pan or adding some type of fan or additional cooling. my preference would be an additional inline cooler.
anyone know which one I should get? and from where? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money.
The factory coolers 4 the newer 6.0's are alot bigger ( they r 25 and 31 row coolers ) and bolt right in the location of the original all u need is some adapters 2 go too the bigger lines some thing you can find at any hardware store.
Otherwise you could put in an axillary like u said try some of the site sponsors on the top of the page other than that maybe ebay
My truck the trans cooler runs right from the trans to a v-10 cooler back to the trans. One cooler, since my truck does not even have the radiator transmission fluid cooler on it. My trans temperatures have always been low since the v-10 cooler was installed, usually 150* is the hottest i see in traffic without a trailer. I am running 37's on stock gearing also. Normally driving down the freeway, I see 125*.
has anyone done the 6.0 cooler swap? where can I get it and what are the extra parts I need??

I got mine off ebay keep an eye there you can usually find one 4 half the cost . I m not sure i would bye a used one if anything happened in the old trans it could have filled up the cooler w/ crud
The extra parts are adapters from your 3/8" cooler lines to the 1/2" on the 6.0 cooler. Install is easy take off the lines on the O E cooler Take out the bolts Bolt the 6.0 cooler up in same spot and put the lines back on....

I got the Tru-Cool but have not installed it yet, think I payed like $130 with the SD kit. I went with the Tru-Cool because of the possibility of a used one being contaminated. Not sure what the used 6.0 coolers are going for but thought the price was good on the Tru-Cool.
