Hey guys, another stupid "noob" question. What is the 10k, 22k... mod that I keep hearing about? Is it something that should be done, or is it something that is just for fun?

Those are 7.3 mods researched by coonhunterjoe in the 94.5 - 97 forum. I'd go there and search or post a thread on it. Those who have done the mods have had good results, but if you already have a chip the mod may have no effect.
Project I'm working on right now is installing a new carburetor and changing the fluid in the transmission. Unfortunately, the carb I picked up from a friend is only a 600cfm, and not the 750 he said it was. Going to have to upgrade that again when I get the chance.

the factory carb on my motorhome is a 600CFM, it is a 1986 460cid.
Its a 1987 F250 with a 460ci. I suppose 600cfm is fine for now, as it is stock, but I wanted to prepare for future upgrades. I got the new Edelbrock installed. It will run for about a minute and a half and then the idle will drop until it dies. Not really sure what's going on. And there seems to be a lot of misty smoke coming out of the carb? I mostly work with FI, so this carbureted stuff is new to me.
EDIT: I joined the chapter, thanks guys. I didn't realize you had to click on that link first. I mostly troll around looking up information, and don't post a whole lot. I really hope I can get my truck running before the meet... would be silly if I showed up in my car.

Is the carb getting fuel consistantly? Fuel pump? Vacum leak?
