So I have a 91 Ranger and it has 2 (per side) rear lift blocks. IT CAME THAT WAY, what is the best way to retain my lift and make my truck safer. Suggestions?
I'd look into a rear shackle flip of some sort, but the SKY Manufacturing piece is made for 3" wide springs. But there is a guy over on fullsizebronco.com selling a different type of shackle flip. I'd try contacting the original poster of this thread and see if he can help you out. That said the other block is probably just a factory wedge block for pinion angle.
Stock spring hangers can be used for a shackle flip. Just buy a set of front hanger for the rear spring, and hang the shackle from that. They will be the correct width, and will require very little drilling to install.
These are as strong as anything you will ever need.
Upon installation, this should eliminate at least one large block, and at this point you can determine the need for a different all spring pack, or the addition of an AAL.
This hanger will look like this after installation. Image of rear shackle flip with 64" sping - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Thanks for the advice , I suspected a shackle flip would be a good start. So would a single lift block would be ok? If the shackle flip do not bring the height back enough?
