Differential Fluid Change

Since I don't have time right now to search for this sorry if it's been asked before, what do I need for fluid for the truck in the sig. Front should be a Dana 50 rear sterling 10.5. What wieght do I need and how much? Thanks,

I also have a 92 explorer 4x4, with a Dana TTB 35 in front, and I a 8.8 ford in the rear, what weight fluid do I use and how much if anyone knows, I will ask in the explorer forum as well.

I use the synthetic 75w-140 in both ends. 75w-90 is kind of hard to find. Everybody carries 80w-90

Because your rear Dana 60 turns full time, works harder, gets hotter therefore needs some higher rated fluid. Your front usually is unlocked and works part time.

Not at all. Just make sure it's synthetic.

I dont want to sould like a smart A__, but just look up the spec of fluid that is required in the explorer tranny, and just make sure that you buy a tranny fluid that meets thats spec. Example Mercon V. If you want just ask over in the explorer forum. Hope this helps.

While you got the pan off - sand it down and get a couple layers of paint on it. It will save you some hassle of it rusting down the road. I did it about 2 months ago and everything went smoothly - Ahhhh love preventative maintenance
