I have been driving the '79 for the past week to work and haul stuff for doing the yard, A yard of top soil really makes her squat!!! I have put in $115 and she is sitting at 1/4 tank right know!! On the other hand the '07 is staying nice and clean just sitting in the garage!
i don't think there's much difference in mileage. my 351 would probably have similar power to the 460 stock now, but the 460 would likely have longer legs...
You might be near the stock hp. Stock for a 460 was what, 240? Stock for a 351 was 210. With your mods you might be at 225ish? I dunno how much a 4 barrel and some headers add, but its probably 15-20.
Ya might be a little behind a stock 460 yet, but it shouldnt be hard to get there!
No idea what the tq difference is, probably more in a 460 for obvious reasons.
you're missing the intake... i've been in marlons '79, and seat of the pants tells me that mine launches comparably... eventually we'll get them together for a run... maybe a video for ya'll...
I have heard those desk top dyno's are pretty close!! From what I found a stock 460 in a '79 truck application had 212hp! I wouldn't be surprised if Sherm's 83 could take the 460 right now!
