No cat sound???

I have 4" MBRP with cat. What will the cat delete make the truck sound like? More turbo whistle? More engine noise? Or a little more of both? Im looking for a louder turbo whistle.

Thanks, DB

You will definitely get more turbo whistle, and a little louder.

when i took out my cat i noticed a little more turbo whistle. not as much as i was hoping for but i still have stock exhaust so i'm sure that with aftermarket exhaust it will be a little more pronounced

Removing the cat will make a difference but all trucks are different. Some increase the whistle while others just more rumble, deleting the muffler helps as well. One thing is for sure when deleting the cat your street cred goes up!!

emmagator, I have an MBRP cat delete pipe new in the box in my garage that I cant use. If you want it I'll make you a good deal. I bought it thinking that I could use it with my stock exhaust, but it won't work.

Just put the MBRP 4 inch system with the CAT delete pipe on my 06. At idle, there's not any turbo whistle that I can hear but a real faint hiss. The turbo whistle starts to kick in as you give it throttle and the turbo begins to spool up. It's no where near as loud as an 03 but it's noticeable.

Yeah, your results would be lot like Powerstroke_wannabe describes his above. The later years turbos are fairly quiet, at least in comparison to the '03. I'm running the Banks exhaust with no cat, and my '03 sounds like a jet spooling up ! I feel a little guilty when I pull out of my neighborhood early in the morning (but not THAT guilty !)

'05 4" Magnaflow, no cat or muffler. Idling it sounds like a jet, good whistle when taking off. But when under a load or stepping on it.....I knock nerds off of mopeds......

Another way to get more whine out of the engine is to add an Airraid intake kit!

Sitting inside my truck sounds just like you are in an airliner from the turbo spooling up everytime you move the throttle!!!

I have the Banks 4" turbo back exhaust with no cat and I don't get too much whistle out the tailpipe, but when I put my foot in it I have a very loud throaty exhaust sound. It sounds great!!!
