Well guys i finally got the other motor in the truck just a direct replacment but now i have a problem the motor smokes. It smokes a whitish smoke mainly at idle and when you first put out on the road then it slows down the smoking a bunch to just a little while idling after driving i think it may be an injector but i am not sure and i dont have much to do so it really annoys me. I would like to atleast figure out what it is before I start driving it. And it makes a weird sound to through the exhaust and you can hear it while you stand by the cab but you cant really hear it when you stand in front of the motor and the truck is a 1991 F-250 regular cab long box 5 spd with new batteries a new clutch and all the parts that were used to put it together were used. I started to change injectors out of the old motor that froze up on the guy they were standyne and the injectors in the 92 motor were and are delphisDouble ds or bs i cant remember but the standynes a re bs I believe. the truck starts right up with no problemsand runs and idles but it smokes all the time !!!!! and its annoyng. ~Ryan~
There isnt suposed to be carbon build up around the base of the injector where the washer is located is there because I just cleaned a tip on one and there was a lot of carbon around the base and how are you suposed to keep the washer on the injector or are you suposed to drop in the washer then put the injector in or what ? and is it safe to have half delphis and half standynes in the motor or should i put on or the other in? and the standynes are Ds and the delphis are BBs. I forgot that the (new motor) is used out of a 1992 ford F-250 auto 4 wd that the rear end went bad and they started using it for parts. I have no idea how many miles are on it either. Also what is the plug in on the drivers side of the injection pump used for cause i didnt have a hook up for it on the 92.

Reason: forgot some things
Two differnt types of injectors firing at different fuel/break point pressures can cause fuel related problems.
The carbon buildup indicated there was not a proper seal at the copper washer. You must use new washers every time you remove the injectors....... I use antisieze to hold the copper washer in place. Torque is 35 ftlbs.. X2. Did you replace the fuel return lines and caps on/between the injectors......... air intrusion will cause white smoke, so will retarded timing.
Check the oil filler tower for a engine year tag....... there should be a year punched out.
i cant really read the tag but there were years printed on it 91 92 and 93 most of the rest of the neck was covered by oily crap. last night i put in all of the standyne injectors and it smokes a lot less now and it smokes the most when its cold now. once its warmed up the smoke is almost gone completely so i thought maybe play with the injection pump to get rid of the rest of the smoke but i dont really now what to do with the injection pump to so slow down the smoking to barely none and the motor has enough power i believe. With 285 75 16s i can make it slide sideways down the gravel road through first and second with the start of third but then it wants to go straight and not slide.
