love the site I have been on every day for the past two weeks. I can get my hands on a 62 uni body. A frend has it and he wants to trade for my 90 f-150. his has a 351-w and c-4. four flat tires, and has not run for two years. it needs some body work and paint. he has all new parts bumpers, trim, and rubber. mine has 300-6, 5-speed,air,tilt wheel. I don't know what his is worth. thanks for any help.
If he wants to trade straight across....I would...assuming the uni runs halfways decent...tires can be dealt with easy enough...If the uni is really rusty ....theres lots of places to look for on them...cab mounts, the rear cab/front bed wall area, drip rail area, and the floors themselves.. look it over closely ...I hope it all comes out good for ya.
If you're in Tn, I'm assuming rust gets a hold of everything quick. I paid a $1000 for my standard body. Some would say I paid too much, but around where I am, there aren't a lot of 'em left solid, and I'm happy. LINK: Pics of My Truck When I bought It
I'm assuming you really want the truck since you're asking a bunch of 61-66 Ford owners if you should make the trade - hmmmm....wonder what the answer to that will be!
A uni is more in demand than the split cab/bed. A big back window is even more. BUT, it's really just a truck, so you'll never sell it for what you put into it - but if it's a love affair, it won't matter.
If its not road worthy; I recommend buying straight out & keeping your 90's model to use as a daily driver and then get the Uni road ready & then sell your 90 model.
Just my opinion..
i had an 89 4x4 that was cherry low mileage lifted 35 inch tall tires and i only got $3000.00 for it i would keep your truck and buy the other one out right keep the other truck for transportation
Thanks for all the help. The deal is done, I got his truck and $500 bucks. I did'nt need the 90 I have 3 fords, a 04 f-350, and a 88 mustang GT. So I think I did OK.
