f150 insert grille compatibility

Hi I found a good deal on a stainless steel grille insert (clip on style)off a 2000 f150 xlt. Will this fit on my 1997 f150 2wd,reg cab,long box ?

nope. 97's grill opening is smaller.

I used to make stainless putco grills at my old job, but we never made any that fit my 97 either
