im curious as to y u have to get the dealer to change the mileage? should u not just be able to plug it in and the computer would be holding all that info? i ask becuz im curious about swapping in an FX2 dash into my truck... just my thoughts.... it seems they were wrong...
From my understanding and lots other threads i have seen the Mileage seems to be stored in the actual dash so when you switch them whatever the current dash has on it that you install that's mileage that appears. This also why you have to get the P.A.T.S system reprogrammed so in theory ya cant find a dash will lower mileage and just install it...from my understanding...

Your understanding that the mileage is stored in the gauges is 100% correct, but disconnect the battery and pop in the new gauges and then connect the battery and you'll be surpised to see everything will work like normal. Please just try it and then have the dealer do the mileage if you want. Very easy to do.

They will swap right in if you disconnect the battery while your working on them.
