I want to get some subs in my supercab. My local shop said 8 inch JL W0s...I am going JL for sure. I had 2 10inch W0s in my car and they sounded great till i blew them on a kenwood excelon 1600watt amp...But show me how you have your sub/subs in your supercab and where you mounted your amp. Thanks
I have a 99 Superduty. Don't know if your dash is the same, but I have an Eclipse DVD head unit and 6 disc changer mounted in my dash. I still had enough room to hook up the amp. As for the sub box, Ididn't have enough room to put anything under the rear seat. That's where my amp and PS2 are. I had a box built to act as a console for the back seat. It has 2 drink holders built in the top and it's covered in color matched carpet. The speaker faces down. The bass is great.
theres a rear seat lift so u can out a sub box under it. try JC Whitney. ideally u should place them under the seat or maybe make a small box for behind ur seat. u could get real crafty and make a fiberglass console. i seen some really trick ones. give www.termpro.com a look they have a lot of useful info there.
I built a custom 4" seat lift for the rear seat in my 2002 SD SC which allowed me to build a front facing box for two 10" subs .6 cubic feet per sub. The box is centered between the jack and the center seat pillar. On the drivers side there is now a small shelf up near the back cab wall under the rear seat that allows me to mount my Sony XM-1600GSD amp. The key to installing a sub system in a SC is to lift the rear seat, also lifting the rear seat makes it alot more comfy for the passenger's. As of now the box is built, the subs are on their way as is the amp and the truck is all wired. I think I'm going to get a Sony CDX-CA700X head unit but I'm not sure. When The install is done I will try to get some pics.
I would like to see some pics if you have time. I am getting ready to do subs and amps in my truck. I can't take the back seat out, and I really need the storage under the seats. Thinking of subs in console for back seat, or on floor in front of console near the heater. Any thoughts, thanks
