56 F-100
#17
Well I found it in a small paper called the Delaware County Daily Times listed in the classics/antiques section there are usually no old cars usually late model cars listed.Only three cars an 80 camaro that attracted my attention and two Fords a 59 galaxy 500 and Ford 56 F-100,all it said was Restored in 1980 garage kept.$10,000. Truthfully I worked (menial tasks like wiping or holding parts)on this truck with the previous owner when I was 15 or so, he was one of my fathers cousins,When I saw this add I thought this could be the same truck but after 25 years believed it in bad shape and went to see on thoughts of customizing since there are a few around that are pretty sharp and truthfully I am more of a chevy guy, have 69 camaro vert in work and drive 91 vert around.Only became somewhat of a ford fan when I bought a used 97 Gran marquis from my father in law a few years back, easy to work on very reliable work car.So when I saw this it didn't look much worse for wear than I remember it, engine paint flaking and a lot dirtier I was kinda in a fog since last year i missed a 65 vette for 20,000.didn't have the money or wifes support my dads got that. So to my disbelief bought it. And after working on it and seeing the amount of detail, like theres a big ten digit or so number on drive shaft, different paint ok stamps thru-out,the way there is undercoat and it is put on in certian way that it cant be by guess or accident.Or why certian bolts are one color or the same as frame. But what really stopped me and made me to decide to keep it stock is the head lights have ford in the lens and I need one and can't find.So I will keep it like it was in 56 its kinda neat. and thanks for all the welcomes to this site it is very informative and interesting in how much work ,agravation and fun these old trucks can be.
