What kind of shape is the tranny fluid in right now????

How does it look, smell & feel???

Do you know if the fluid & filter has ever been changed????

Kinda sounds like one of the shift solenoids is hanging up, or maybe the valve body has some sludge or varnish mucking things up some.

i looked at the fluid when i got it a month ago and it was clean, new and full. he said that he had just done a flush on it. now the owner prior to him i dont know how he treated it. i am back to drivin the F250 cause i dont wanna damage it any more than it may be, till i decide what i should do? id hate to pull the tranny if i dont have too, but i also dont wanna waste time and aggression on a bum out tranny. oh and if it helps any tranny is a 5r55e....you know those strong as a rock tranny's.....haha

Might be wothwhile to know "what kind" of tranny flush he did, or had done.

If he did a drop the pan, change the filter & continued on with a complete fluid pump out, using the tranny pump (a "soft" pump out), or did he have a tranny shop do a machine pumpout, with cleaning solvents & not drop the pan beforehand.

The reason I ask is that many folks have reported having tranny shift problems after having the solvent type tranny flush done.

If you think that some varnish or sludge may have been stirred up & is hanging up a shift solenoid, or messing with the valve body, maybe before having it worked on, or replaced, consider trying something like Seafoam Trans Tune, or Auto-Rx for trannies.

Both act as detergents to clean & put into suspension, gum, varnish & sludge, so that it can be removed by the tranny filter, or on a soft tranny pumpout fluid exchange, that you can easily do yourself. There is a "how to" in the "Tech Info" thread, atop this forum.

More thoughts for pondering. Keep us posted.
