All you need is an outdoor "powerhorn" speaker. Radioshack has them. The two cheaper ones are $15 (part num 10-1235) and $22 ( 40-1236) You will also need to get a phono plug to connect it to your radio.
if you do get a PA speaker get one that is atleast 15 watts or higher. other wise they're not that loud. i had one that was 25 watts and i use to scare the CRAP out of people on the road. works great when someone pulls out in front of you. tell'em whats on you mind. )
Hey[br]
Or if you want some added fun, my friend just got a PA from his school, one from the 80's that was used to fill the entire Gym with the speaker, so he hooked up a 250watt amp and hooked it into his radio, now he drives around scaring the ##### out of people by listening to clown music. Pretty damn funny seeing a big fat guy in a small cavalier hearing clown music.. Doo dooo doooo

This is what i did for mine. A buddy of mine gave me a 30W PA speaker that had no jack on it. it had two wires on it, red and black. had to go to Radio Shack and buy a mono plug. I can't remember which wire went where on the plug. buy the mono plug with the two wires on it already to save some hassle. (i am assuming your speaker does not have a plug). Connect the wires and try the PA function. If if does'nt work reverse the wires and try again. That is what i did for mine. wasn't too hard to do. I hope this helps you.
i just bought two mono phone jacks i hooked up

for radioshack they were 'ent to help ful so i had
to figur it out for my self but i had a problem
when i hooked it up to the pa jack i turned the pa swich

is that way it subpoto work can any body tell me if
this is right or not i need our help
Ok, on most cb's there is a PA jack and an external speaker jack on the back. It sounds like you put it in the external speaker jack. About the plug, I don't think it really matters which wire you put for the red and which for the black. If a horn is anything like a normal speaker (which I'm almost positive it is) it can be wired either way, though one way MIGHT sound better. About mounting, in my 86 F-150, it's mounted on the fender near the firewall, sounds good there too.
I'm a little fuzzy on this, you guys said something about a higher wattage PA (ex: 30w) being louder than a lower wattage PA (ex: 15w)... I don't get how this is so, because the cb is the amplifier and if its only putting out say 5w, then it shouldn't really matter as long as the PA is rated for that amount. Or am I confused about something here?
