<tt><tt>We're buying a truck to haul my husband's motorcycles to the track
around california. I've never really even driven a truck and we're
talking about an F-150, or a GMC Sierra, or Chevy Silverado. Can
anyone help me understand which of these will be the easiest for me to
handle and the most comfortable to drive long distances in? thanks!
The GMC and Chevy are identical trucks with different badges.
The differences between the Ford and GMC/Chevy are mostly personal preferences. I recommend going to dealers and driving each to see which you prefer. A lot of the comfort is dependant on your size. If I'm a different size than you, and I'll bet I am, what's comfortable for me might not be for your.
The hardest part of driving one of these for most people is parking, so when you test drive go somewhere and try and park. It isn't much harder than a car, but it is a bit harder. I find that often it's easier to back into a spot.

my truck will only go in backwards...
but round here most people will tell you to get the Ford but thats because we are all Ford fans. But do drive them and also look at the bottom line what dealer will make a deal with you? good luck with your search
Get one with a reverse camera, I have one in my F350 Harley and can't live without it. I like the Ford version the best as it's in the rearview mirror and in your best sight lines.
